Secondary Trauma: The Effects of Compassion Fatigue
A Presentation for all Health Care Professionals and Therapists
Compassion Fatigue is a condition of the mind and body or the ‘body’s mind’ that is the result of unconsciously absorbing and internalizing the energy of others. By learning to transform stress and burnout, caregivers can re-invest themselves in their work and bring to it new energy and a renewed sense of purpose. Karl D. LaRowe, MA, LCSW
Our experience has shown us that many health care providers are not consciously aware of their boundaries therefore do not know how to protect and effectively manage their energy. This can cause staff conflict, high rates of employee turnover, and contribute to low morale at home and in the workplace.
The Epona Approach (Facilitated Learning with Horses) is unique in that it pinpoints with remarkable speed and accuracy the areas we easily neglect within ourselves as professional caregivers. The Horses show us how to take a step back and allow us to access a deeper layer of ourselves that is sustainable energetically.
We are offering this FREE presentation afternoon as an opportunity for you to learn more about The Epona Approach and Facilitated Learning with Horses and how it could benefit you, your co-workers and your clients or patients.
We have particular interests in working with trauma, complex PTSD and long-term depression.
We are delighted to have as our guest speaker Kathleen Barry Ingram MA co-creator of The Epona Approach.
